PACE report on Parliamentary Elections in Armenia published

The PACE report on the parliamentary elections in Armenia was published shortly ago. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hayk Konjoryan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Among other findings, the report states that the parliamentary elections of June 7, 2026, were pluralistic and well organized. Voters were offered a genuine choice between political alternatives. In the overwhelming majority of polling stations observed, the conduct of election day was assessed very positively.

The report notes that the elections were held amid extremely important geopolitical realignments.

The elections were accompanied by external interference targeting Armenia, the scale of which observers described as ‘unprecedented and concerning.’

The report emphasizes the economic sanctions and tough diplomatic rhetoric directed at Armenia with the aim of steering the election results toward opposition or anti-government parties.

According to the PACE observation mission, election day proceeded in a well-organized and calm atmosphere.

In the overwhelming majority of polling stations observed, the electoral process received a positive assessment, including with regard to the strong representation of women among members of polling-station commissions.

During the campaign, direct pressure in the form of trade restrictions and security threats was observed from abroad, which, according to the report, was aimed at influencing voters in favor of opposition forces.

Foreign interference and external information operations had reached unprecedented levels in a Council of Europe member state.

According to the report, the election results demonstrate that society displayed its democratic resilience despite unprecedented levels of external pressure and the shortcomings that were recorded.

The PACE report states that the newly elected authorities have received a clear mandate from the people, which they must now fulfill with honor,” he noted.
